이진아(李珍妸)는 숙명여자대학교 국어국문학과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 현대희곡문학을 전공했으며, 러시아 상트페테르부르크 국립연극원에서 연극학 박사 학위를 취득했다. 현재 숙명여자대학교 국어국문학과 교수로 재직하고 있으며 연극평론가로 활동하고 있다.
러시아 연극과 한국 연극에 대한 다수의 논문과 저서가 있다. 대표적 저서로는 ≪한국 근현대 연극 100년사≫(공저, 2009), ≪동시대 연극비평론의 방법론과 실제≫(공저, 2009), ≪가면의 진실≫(2008), ≪동시대 연출가론≫(공저, 2007) 등이 있으며, ＜근대적 예술관으로서의 한국연극미학의 형성＞, ＜탈식민적 상황에서의 한국 연극의 자기 재현＞, ＜도스토예프스키 연극과 페테르부르크 테마＞ 외 다수의 논문이 있다.
